What kind of personal information do you
need from me to design my website?
Your website is the single most important advertising investment
you will make. I tells your customer about you, about your
product and about what they can expect if they become your customer.
Of course, I will need the basic information, company name, contact
information, etc. If yours is an ecommerce site you will need
to all me access to that account long enough to set it up for you.
After I am finished, if you so choose, you can change your password
for your protection. If I am going to be your webmaster and
continue to administer your website and all of it's functionality,
you will need to trust me to do so.

What are the first steps in the web design
process?
Securing your domain name and webhosting company is the first
step. I can do that for you and bill it to you, or you can do
it, the choice is yours. I suggest using HostGator as your
webhost. I use them for my own personal website and most of
the websites I create. They have a lot of built in tools such
and traffic tracking, etc. I do get a commission from them so
if you do choose to use them, I ask that you use this link to
HOSTGATOR to purchase your hosting package. You will then need
to give me access to your CPanel so I can upload your website and
set up email addresses and subdomains for you.Next, decide what
you want your website to do. Is it going to be an
informational website, a personal profile website, and eCommerice
website or the typical website in which we tell the customer about
you, why you are in business, your business phylosophy, how to
contact you and your business hours.
Next, you will need to decide what you want your website to look
like. We have several options, depending on how involved you
want to be in the design process. Some clients are artistic
and know exactly what they want and to be very involved with the
process, providing photographs, basically designing the site,
telling me how they want it to look and then approving the finished
page(s) as I finish them. This process takes longer, but since
I do not charge you by the hour, but by the page, this would not be
a problem for your financial budget and if your time budget is
flexible, we will be ok with that process. Another option is
for me to design a template for you that will be the basis for your
entire website. I charge $500 for a template design. Our
third option is for me to use a template that I already own and have
not previously used for another client and personalizing it for you.
I have thousands in my possession and most of the time, there is one
that is suitable for every client.
It is helpful for me if you can find 8-10 websites you like the
looks of so I can get a feel for what your taste is. You might find
a website that you like only one thing on, that is ok, we can use
the idea from that site and combine it with other ideas to make your
website your own. Many times, I use a combination of
several templates to achieve the look and feel of the client.
Remember, I do not call it finished until you are satisfied with it.
If you do not like what you see, or a portion of what you see,
please tell me, I will not stop until you are happy.
Armed with the above information, I begin designing your website.
Once I get it done, I upload it to a test site for you to view it
online and either approve it or tell me what changes you want done.
Once you are happy with the site, we go live. I load your site
with tags that will make you easy to find on the web. We can
get you to the number one listing in the search engines, but this
usually is expensive and if your budget is tight, the meta tags I
load in will help the process, probably not the number 1 spot, but
at least in the first one to two pages. Most people will only
look at the first two - three pages in the search results.

What kind of service after the sale do
you offer?
I have several packages I can offer you. If your website
will not change much after it is designed, we can do an annual
update if needed. The cost of this package will depend on how
extensive your updates are. Some clients have me completely
re-design their website every one to two years. This will be
about the same cost of the original design. If you only have a
change or two, such as the addition or subtraction of a product or a
few products, this could cost as little as $25, depending on what
you have me do.
If you need for me to do daily, weekly or monthly updates, this
will be charged on a, per page price and depend on what is on the
page. Many clients find that it is more to their advantage to
contract with me to be their webmaster. In this case, you will
pay me a monthly charge which will be determined by the number of
updates and the frequency of the updates. If you do not have
the time or ability to do these updates yourself, this is
advantageous to you to have me do it. The contract will be
done on an annual basis, beginning with the date your site goes
live. At the end of the first year, you will have the choice
to retain me as your webmaster or to find and hire another
webmaster. The contract between my client and me is a legal
and binding contract and will be honored by both parties for the
duration of the contract. I will not dishonor any contract I
make, nor do I expect my client to do so either. If I contract
with you, I will depend on your payment to be made on time so that I
can continue to do business and pay my expenses. You may
upgrade your contract at any time, but may not downgrade it until
the current contract is up.
You can call me or email me at any time and let me know of the
updates you want and it will become a priority and will be completed
as quickly as is possible. I sleep very little, and work as
many hours a day as is necessary to make sure the needs of my
clients are met.

How do you get paid?
I do not have a checking account, so I cannot accept personal
checks. I can accept company checks however. I prefer
cash, cashier's check, money order, or Quick Collect or Money
Gram. I cannot accept credit card payments, but if you have a
netspend account, I can accept card to card transfer. I can
get you set up on netspend if you want. I have an account with
them, and Western Union. I do not have a PayPal account at
this time because it requires a checking account and I choose not to
have one.
